GC-1001/MD3001 Handheld Metal Detector
General
Your GC-1001 / MD3001 is a portable handheld metal detector. This is a dedicated security check tool. Key features include LED and buzzer alarm, auto scan, fastswarm response to a small object and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It is mainly used for security inspections at the airport, court, stadium, prison and other public places. It can find hidden weapons, knives and other metal objects in baggage and postal parcels.
Operation
1. Open the battery cover with a screwdriver or a coin, and then lift the cover and slide it back. InstallPlease use one 9V alkaline battery (6F22. S006P) correctly, paying attention to the polarity of the battery. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw.
2. Grasp the handle of your GC-1001 / MD3001 metal detector, turn on the power by pushing the switch up to the ON position. After the device performs an auto scan for 1 to 2 seconds, the green Ready lights on the front and back of your detector will start flashing and the red Alert light will turn off to indicateIndicates that the metal detector is in normal mode.
Press and hold the switch to turn the power down, the device will enter into momentary low sensitivity mode. The switch will return to the OFF position automatically when released.
3. When the detection area covers a known object (such as a coin), the speaker beeps and the red Alert lights on the front and back surfaces light up as a signal. For large metal objects (e.g. steel ruler), soundYour signal will be higher than for small objects.
Functions
1. Power Switch
Power switch - swing control on the handle, which has two main functions and three positions. Power: ON - OFF - (ON). Sensitivity: Normal - OFF - (Low).
2. Audio Alerts
When the detection area covers a metal object, the speaker beeps. When 3.5mm headphones are connected via the headphone jack instead of the speakerHiccup sounds will be emitted by the earpiece.
3. Light Alerts
When the metal detector detects a metal object, the red indicators on the front and rear panels light up. The function is also available when the earpiece is in use.
4. Separating Sound Tones
Take advantage of this property. When a small metal object is detected, only the volume of the sound changes, while there are changes in both the volume of the sound and the pitch beep when a large metal object is detected.
5. Reset
Reset - a button for a short press. Press it lightly to restore normal operation, especially when there are false alarms and a sudden change in ambient temperature for detection.
6. Headphones
When operating the detector in a very noisy environment or for a special personal need, you can connect headphones for silent operation.
7. Low Battery Indication
If after powering on your GC-1001 / MD3001 (without detecting any metal object) it continues to beep, the green Ready lights no longer blink and the red Alert lights are on, they indicate low battery voltage and the need to replace the battery with a new one.
8. Sensitivity adjustment
Insert the tip of a small screwdriver through the SENS ADJ. hole. Slowly turn the SENS knob clockwise to increase (or counterclockwise to decrease) Sensitivity, as long as both the audio and visual alarm are continuous. Then loosen it up a bit. Move the target back and forth at the required distance above the detector. Make adjustments until it detects the target reliably.
Note: Do not set the sensitivity too high. Or it will cause a false alarm.
Body Scan Procedure
1. First, toscan the front of the body, sweep the detector from the right shoulder to the ankles, and then to the left shoulder, as shown in Figure 3.
2. Second, to scan the back of the body, start at the back of the head, follow the contours of the body, and work your way down the spine as shown in Figure 4.
3. Finally, to search the legs and ankles, hold the detector vertically, approximately 1 to 2 inches above the floor. It may be necessary to use the Low button while searching near the floor.
Servicee
Turn off your portable metal detector when not in use. Keep the metal detector clean and dry. Clean it with a damp cloth to maintain its appearance. Do not use chemical cleaners.
Remove the battery from the battery compartment if you don't want to use it for a long time.
