2. Magpul MS3 QD ACU two-point harness in detail
Was presented to the public comparatively Recently, in 2010. It is an improved version of the Magpul MS2 Sling 2-point sling, which is used today by a large popular with experienced shooters. Its main difference is that it has become lighter. The width of the sling, on the contrary, has increased. Such transformations are due to the choice of material - denser nylon, which has a rough structure and slips a little. Tactical belt based on it is not afraid of breaks and friction, it can withstand a weight of 7-8 kg.Being elastic, it is able to stretch many times without losing its original shape. Using it thanks to soft inserts is much more pleasant than many domestic models. Minimizes the chance of chafing your hands. Stain resistance is another plus. The nylon sling washes out easily and dries quickly.
From the previous version Magpul MS3 also differs in the composition of the fittings. In particular, Symmetrical Paraclip™ fasteners are used, which work on the principle of a clothespin. Both rear and front ficsators are exactly the same. They allow you to change the position of the weapon, as well as reset it, if necessary, in a matter of seconds. Spontaneous operation of the locks is excluded, since each of them has a locking pin. The clasps open/close silently.
The Magpul Two-Point Belt has a loop that allows you to quickly tighten or loosen it when moving into a combat position. An important role in this regard is also played by the adjusting buckles, which are very easy to move.
Transformation of a belt from two-point is possibleth to single-point and vice versa. Which of these methods is more preferable depends to a large extent on the choice of weapon. Usually the single carbine mount is preferred by owners of small weapons, as in this position it is put on alert really instantly.
A two-point mount will not allow you to aim so quickly, but a similar sling makes it much easier to carry larger weapons during long transitions (for example, pneumaticHatsan rifle mod. 125 Magnum). It is possible to hang equipment behind the back, which provides unhindered access to the front unloading pouches and other equipment. The fighter's hands remain free. Conveniently, when using two latches, accidental flipping of the weapon is prevented.
The plastic loop required to switch to single point mode has been made larger than on the MS2 Sling, and therefore more reliable in operation.
