A few tips on how to make your own ghillie suit
- Base selection. The threads can be woven into a net or mesh fabric. It can be plain or camouflage. As many professionals advise, the smaller the base cells, the better. After all, this eliminates the need to additionally sew on the lining.
For referencevki: without lining, with large cells, the threads can turn inside out, and besides, a large unlined net clings to everything when moving, interfering with mobility. Holes that are too large against the general background may stand out as black spots, which may adversely affect the camouflage effect of the suit.

- Number of threads. It is recommended to use a crochet hook for weaving. The bundles are made up of two or three threads. It is advisable not to overdo it and not make a "fur coat". And not so much for the sake ofSavings, and so that Gilly's costume does not turn out too hot and heavy. Do not forget that when wet, the weight of the wound threads increases significantly.
To create a large camouflage, according to experienced hunters, from 0.5 to 1.5 kg of thread is enough. Maximum - 2 kg!

- Additional materials. For more fluffiness, as well as to create a protective tone without dark bald spots, it is better to make an "undercoat" by combining long threads with shorter ones. Already directly in the forest or in the steppe, in order to blend in perfectly with the terrain, you can insert elements of natural camouflage into the cells: branches, grass, moss, etc. To attach them, it does not hurt to sew elastic bands and straps to the suit.
