2. Description of the Makarov pistol chambered for Flaubert
It would not be an exaggeration to say that the PMF-1, copied from the famous Makarov pistol, is unique in its kind. More than one manufacturer produces quality rimfire revolvers, but only C.E.M. mBoasts such a reliable version of the pistol chambered in Flaubert.
It should be noted that PMF-1 is presented exclusively on the Ukrainian market (since autumn 2013). In Russia, for example, it is recognized as a firearm, despite the existence of an expert opinion that the pistol is not one (an extract from the opinion is attached in the kit).
In the Sheriff military store, you have the opportunity to buy a PMF-1 at an adequate price.
What, besides the type of ammunition, is the Makarov pistol chambered in Flaubert remarkable for?
Extnot this pistol is almost similar to the pneumatic MP 654 K, which, in turn, is made from combat PM parts . Accordingly, the similarity of the Makarov pistol chambered for Flaubert with the original is maximum. It is pleasant to state that the quality of the copy is quite high - all the parts are made neatly and fit well to each other.
However, the combat prototype and analogue chambered for Flaubert differ in several aspects.
Firstly, the PMF-1 does not have a clamping screwbut a store that would make the gun more bulky and untidy. At the same time, the place of the ejector on the shutter casing remained empty, which in general does not spoil the appearance.
Secondly, the upper part of the shutter casing, unlike the combat PM, is blued.
Thirdly, the slide delay is welded tightly, its function is purely decorative. The fact is that the full retraction of the bolt carrier back can damage the drum. Accordingly, the shutter delay lever is also intended solely to ensure similarity with the combat PM.
If you disassemble the PMF-1, you can see that the pistol has also undergone several modifications inside. This is, first of all, the removal of the reflector and ejector, a modified trigger and a new drummer. A “stump” is installed on the bracket, which does not allow the shutter to be retracted to its full length, since this can damage the drum.
The Flaubert cartridge with a caliber of 4 mm does not match the barrel diameter of the original PM, therefore, in the PMF-1, a shorter barrel is placed inside the false barrel (96 mm) (90 mm long). Due to this trick, the visual resemblance to the Makarov combat pistol is also preserved.
Thus, the PMF-1, being, with minor exceptions, a weight and size copy of the PM, is a truly original work of the arms industry.
3. The principle of operation of the Makarov pistol magazine chambered for Flaubert
But the main distinguishing feature of PMF-1 is, of course, the store, which is a completely new, unique detail. The frame of the store imitates the PM store, but in its upper part there is a pyati-charged non-removable drum chambered for regular Flaubert cartridges with a caliber of 4 mm.
Each drum chamber is loaded separately when the drum is rotated - as in revolver. The removal of spent cartridges is also done manually, using a special extraction ramrod that comes with the pistol.

PMF-1 is a pistol with a double-action cocking, that is, a new cartridge is sent when fired: when the hammer is cocked, the pusher turns the drum and the next chamber is aligned with the axis of the barrel.
At the same time, the speed of a shot from a Makarov pistol chambered in Flaubert is much higher than from a revolver. According to testing, the accuracy of fire is quite high.
4. Ammunition and accessories
It is important to know that the gun manufacturer recommends using only Czech cartridges for shooting“Sellier & Bellot" (German-made Flaubert cartridges when fired from this particular pistol wedges). It is also categorically not recommended to make “blank” (without a cartridge) shots from the PMF-1 - this is fraught with the inevitable appearance of dents on the drum and misfires in the future.
In the Sheriff store, you can also pick up comfortable holsters for the PMF-1, and the prices will pleasantly surprise you with their affordability.
