An achromatic lens is a complex lens consisting of diverging and converging lenses, most often glued together with optical glue (for example, Canadian balsam, balsam, and others). Gluing does not affect the achromatic properties in any way, however, it makes it possible to reduce re-reflections from lens surfaces, reduce the requirements for the accuracy of manufacturing the glued surfaces, and facilitate subsequent installation.
