Steel 2Cr13 - Ms.robust, characterized by good anti-corrosion properties with a hardness of 51-52 units on the Rockwell scale, it is well polished, and also well and easily sharpened. However, it is precisely because of the low hardness that blades made of this steel quickly become dull and require editing.
Satin Finish - satin finish - semi-shiny surface. It sits right between a matte shot blasted finish and a mirror polished finish. You can see the buff lines with two directional surfaces to help show the bevels of your blade. This is due to the fact that the blade is ground in one direction with increasing use of fine abrasive. The thinner the abrasive used and the smoother the line, the cleaner the satin will look. This finish also reduces reflectivity, making the steel less bright. This finish is done by hand and requires a high level of skill as it is a lengthy process, which is why knives with this finish are more expensive.
