Tradition knives have a traditional handle shape, as well as a scimitar-shaped blade, and can be used in a variety of situations - from a picnic to hunting. Since 1980, the Tradition collection has been available in twelve sizes, 1-12. Issues 1 and 11 are currently out of production.

In sizes 6-12, the blade locks securely in the open position thanks to the Virobloc® locking system created by Marcel Opinel in 1955.

The scimitar-shaped blades in this series are made from high carbon steel. This content allows you to reach excellent hardness of steel after heat treatment, thus guaranteeing excellent cutting performance, strength and sharpening.

At the same time, carbon steel has low resistance to corrosion. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid damp environments, dry and oil the blade after use. Since the steel does not contain chromium, sharpening the cutting edge of the blade is much easier than a blade made of chromium steel.
