The Mazepinka headdress consists of band, rolled-up patches, wedge front, peak, embossed insignia and cockade. The band is sewn together from 8 wedges in such a way that creates the bottom of the headdress. The upper part of the band is 10–20 mm narrower than the lower part. Wedges are sewn like thisat once that they converge exactly in the middle of the bottom of the dress. The height of the band from bottom to top is 7 cm in the front part, the back part of the band is 1 cm less. The overlays are sewn to the band in the lower part and have a wedge-shaped cutout in front. The top of the wedge cut is 6 cm apart. A darkened button with a diameter of 14 mm is sewn at the bottom of the cutout.
